Cosplay Meetups

Meet Fellow Fans!

Are you interested in meeting other attendees who are cosplaying from the same anime, comic book, TV show or video game as you? Host a cosplay meetup for your fandom! Cosplay meetups are attendee-led events where you can chat, take pictures and celebrate your fandom together. Meetups are great for making new friends, too!

Frequently Asked Questions

How does hosting a meetup work?

Apply using the form linked above. Host applications for each fandom are on a first come, first served basis with preference given to those with hosting experience. All cosplay meetups will be run by at least one designated host. Before the convention starts, the full schedule of meetups will be made available.

Where do we meet?

Meetup location is TBD. We'll update soon!

What do I do during my cosplay meetup?

You can organize photoshoots for groups and/or specific characters or just chat about your fandom! Keep in mind that these events are run by you, so you’re free to do anything as long as you adhere to the convention’s policies.

We're having so much fun! May we continue past the assigned time?

Sure, that’s fine with us! All we ask is that you be respectful of those who have time slots other than yours and move your meetup to another spot when your time is up.

May I host a meetup with a friend or two?

Of course! Please note on the form if you know the people you want to host with.

Do I have to buy a badge to host a meetup?

Yes. We do not offer comped badges for hosts, so please make sure you will be able to purchase an attendee badge before applying.

May I advertise my meetup?

Yes! If you create a Facebook event page, please link it back to Miryokucon's page. You may also use our community Discord to communicate and share photos with everyone in your meetup in real time. Ask a Discord moderator for assistance if needed.

I can no longer host my meetup. What should I do?

We understand that life happens! We ask that you reach out to us (acarswell@miryokucon.org) as soon as you know you won't be able to host your meetup. Please note that if you neglect to let us know you won't be hosting, and leave your fellow attendees hanging, you will be prohibited from hosting a meetup the following year.
